and seeing things the way they should be seen 

sunning myself a little 

we can always come back to the trees, as long as we protect them 

i said to him, i think we'll be ok 

i agreed, it is easier than i thought to come and go 

you see, he said, it's not so bad. 

and see things as they ought to be seen 

he showed me now he could come and go into his hiding place.  

and i considered what he had said 

and now i was the one who was doubtful 

perhaps we can move beyond this place, he asked. we can always come back, he assured me. 

we looked up at the sky together 

he's definitely got a way about him 

and many places to hide 

there is so much beauty here, he said to me 

and had to consider many things 

i got a little scared 

but he said to me, i have an idea 

i didn't want to leave my spot either 

and our friend the slug had some valuable input 

and thought about some things 

we shared some laughs 

and he started to feel better 

he was happy to hear this 

all is not lost as long as we can find our own private sanctuaries
